Organic Cotton Yoga Blanket

Great quality weaving and perfect medium weight.

This organic cotton handwoven yoga blanket from Gayo is extra large at 90x59 in. The relaxing eucalyptus color is like a muted aqua or seafoam green. This blanket is made of 100% eco-conscious organic cotton, supporting sustainable farming. It is not terribly thick but can be folded to provide more padding. It is made well and seems pretty durable. This blanket will work well for yoga, meditation, as a blanket, as a ground cover for outdoor activities, etc. The large size of the blanket is great, it can cover a queen-sized bed.

This is a thinner yoga blanket than what I am used to. I actually prefer it and like the cozy feel. It is well made and I love the color. I feel like it is a bit pricey for what it is used for

This is a different weave than I am typically used to, which I think has its pros and cons. Generally it is much thinner than what I would consider typical Yoga blankets, and takes up half as much space. While this means I have to fold it over more to get the same loft for modifications during class, it also takes up less room in my bag or for travel. The weave is tighter and the cotton fairly stiff to begin with, which is I suppose a bit rougher to the touch than my older one, although cotton tends to soften anyhow with age, so that is difficult to compare at this time. The texture does not bother me in class though, whether cushioning from below, or draping over-top. The construction has a bit more handmade rustic feel, which I tend to prefer, but i does allow for less even edges, and I have found a few loose threads. I love the blue accent, and the fringe detailing provides a nice delicate appeal to the finished edge.Personally I think it looks great, and I appreciate the eco-friendly construction. If you are okay with the rustic look, and the thinner design, this would make a great addition to your Yoga kit, of would make a great gift. For some even the quality materials will not quite be enough to justify the current price, but I still generally feel this is a great product.

This blanket is such a great buy! It’s very large, so I like to fold it in half or even over again for extra cushion. It’s soft and feels nice on the skin. The color is more of a teal, but it’s still very pretty. The quality is wonderful! I’m very happy with this.

When this blanket first came in, it had a slight smell to it—not a bad smell, certainly not a chemical smell; almost like a slightly woody, plant smell. Although I could tell the soft “hand” that the blanket had, when I wrapped it around me there was a bit of an itch. I tend to wash clothes, etc. when I buy them, and certainly sheets, so I threw it into a cold temp washer, and planned on hanging it out to dry. Well, after a solid week of nothing but hot sunny days, it’s cloudy and a bit damp out, so after about 30 minutes on the line I decided to machine dry it, on the low setting.It is now as soft and comfortable as I could hope for. It is also quite a bit smaller! I was expecting some shrinkage, but it now measures 56 inches wide by 75 inches long! Now—this is fine as far as I’m concerned, it’s still a nice large throw, and some of that shrinkage has made it a bit thicker, so the folded mass is still pretty much the same (in terms of use as a soft yoga prop).All in all, I’m very pleased with this blanket. The color is pretty much as pictured. It has a nice heft to it, and is very cozy.

As a yoga instructor, I am always looking for yoga supplies. This blanket is very well made! It has tight knitting and feels very strong. It is firm yet soft and I love the frays on the sides and the color is beautiful as well. it feels heavy and is great for knee support as well as savasana.

My husband is into natural fibers and yoga. He really likes throw blankets. This is a throw blanket, it is NOT a yoga mat.

One thing I do have to admit about this “blanket” is that it is very itchy and scratchy. Washing and drying it doesn’t really change that. It is a blend of organic cotton and natural hemp. I will say I love the earthy smell of the hemp and im glad this blanket is free from chemicals. This is made to use during yoga. It is a good size and perfect for outside use like yoga in the park. This is handmade and it is very strong and durable. This blanket is a sustainable choice and will last a long time.

I've been on the hunt for a soft, sturdy blanket to add to my home practice. I love that this is organic cotton (though I didn't catch any certification on the packaging) & is much softer than anything I've used in a studio. The texture feels very premium & gives a nice boost when folded, whether in a seated posture or under the heels.It just so happens that the aqua color coordinates well with my mat & gear! Price point is good too. Highly recommend for anyone looking to add a little style & cush to their practice.

I like that this doesn’t look like the standard yoga blanket - it’s a lot more stylish and doubles as a throw or decorative sofa accent. Its 90” x 59” size covers me fully in shavasana, and I can also fold it up to comfortably support my knees in certain poses.The eucalyptus shade is a pretty sea moss hue, and the 100% organic cotton tight weave texture is not scratchy but feels nice on the skin. For me, the size is perfect, and the fringe around the edges adds a special touch.If you are looking for a more elevated alternative to a traditional yoga blanket, this is it.

This is a yoga blanket--not really a mat.After a session, while you are centering, you can cover yourself with this to provide comfort and warmth as you prepare to face the day. IT has a subtle design and comes nicely presented with a bow.The quality is quite nice and the blanket is substantial but not bulky. It is easy to carry in my bag. Of course, you could also use this as a throw blanket or on the couch while you are watching TV.

It's comfortable and feels OK. It also can be used when you're just lounging around and watching TV. Yes, I recommend this product.

Smells good, I’m just not clear, do I open these when I want to use or does the scent go through the paper packaging.

My mom loved these!

So cute, but fragrance wasn’t as strong and didn’t last near as long as the ones I get at Kirklands. But I loved the packaging for the Ocean ones.
